Low pressure moving away from Southern New England will leave choppy waters and moderate rip currents across our local beaches and coastal waters. Winds will shift as an upper atmospheric disturbance crosses the region this afternoon. N/NW winds will shift to a W/SW direction as we become under the influence of high pressure.
Ocean waters are still in the low to mid 50’s near New England. 60-degree water is making its way toward Long Island. I will swim in low 60’s water, but I just can’t bring myself to swim in low 50 water.
I will be adding an S NH/ME forecast to this report starting Monday. If there is a beach you love, let me know and I will add it.
