* Until 745 PM EDT

* At 539 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain over Rhode
Island and eastern Massachusetts that will cause minor flooding
especially in the I-95 corridor. Overflowing poor drainage areas
will result in minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to 1.5
inches of rain has already fallen in spots.

* Some locations that will experience minor flooding include…
Boston, Providence, Cambridge, New Bedford, Brockton, Quincy, Lynn,
Fall River, Newton, Warwick, Cranston, Lawrence, Somerville,
Pawtucket, Framingham, Haverhill, Waltham, Malden, Brookline and
Plymouth.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Flood Advisory is issued for minor flooding of roads or underpasses
that usually flood in heavy rain. Do not drive through flooded roads.

Moderate to heavy rainfall is moving across Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island right now.   This will make it to Boston by 430 PM.  Heavy rain is also falling across Southern New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine.  A few isolated lightning strikes are possible, especially south of the Pike.

NWS Northeast Regional Radar through 228 PM

Rain will transition from steady to more of a shower-type towards the evening commute.  Temperatures this evening will be in the low 60’s.  A long sleeve shirt and an umbrella are required if you are heading out tonight.
